Creative Minds Podcast

For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a podcast, writing a script for the podcast episode and creating a masthead. My group and I chose for our podcast (Creative Minds) to be an informative, inspiring podcast that celebrates raw talent and rising artists. As we aim for our podcast to be encouraging, insightful and packed with invaluable advice for creatives everywhere to benefit from, our episode is centered around creative blocks and ways to overcome them.

Communication Platform

Issue to be addressed:

Creative blocks are a universal artist experience. Every creative struggles with these blocks at some point in their career which can stifle their creativity greatly. They can lead to artists feeling stuck in a slump and feel as though they’ve run out of ideas. Additionally, they can last for days, months or even years which can lead to creatives losing motivation and passion for their respective fields. As media students, we feel as though addressing this issue is essential.

 

Communication Objectives:
  • Raising awareness about different creative block experiences to show artists that they aren't struggling with this on their own

  • Change people’s attitudes when faced with creative blocks and motivate them through hearing an experience of a fellow creative.

  • Benefit creatives and artists by giving them tips and ways to overcome creative blocks

Target Audience:

We are targeting men and women of all ethnicities that are creators. Specifically, we aim to target men and women, aged 15-50, who are creatives, artists, musicians, writers, performers, and business leaders in the creative industries. In terms of the psychographic, we are targeting those who have a passion for creating, regardless of whether their art is a hobby or for their professional fields. We aim to target students, especially students pursuing a bachelor in arts (for instance media, art, and film students) and a bachelor in business. We’re also targeting freelancers, employees and professionals in artistic and creative fields.

Our unique selling point is that we offer an inspiring creative community that supports creatives and artists everywhere throughout their professional journeys. The creative minds podcast celebrates raw talent and rising artists, encouraging innovation and inclusivity in the creative industries. Creative Minds podcast interviews artists from every creative field imaginable. Whether they’re artists, writers, performers, makeup artists, musicians, or business leaders you’ll find them on our podcast. Each episode addresses common issues in the industry that all artists may face and the podcast episodes are packed with personal, intimate stories from creatives and invaluable tips to help creatives thrive.

Creative strategy:
  • We’re going to be using three different social media platforms (Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook) to promote our podcast to our audience.

  • Our tone is informative, inspiring, encouraging and motivating as we give listeners insights, advice and essential tips. It’s also a comforting tone as we discuss common barriers and obstacles creatives often face.

  • Our podcast is charismatic, engaging, intimate and relatable for creatives everywhere.
