The university was originally known as Centennial university of Dubai.

Faculties: Canadian University Dubai is well organized by the four faculties. While graduate programs are offered separately, the Canadian University Dubai faculties and all the programs offered have both Canadian and Emirati accreditation.

Canadian University Dubai in City Walk: The Canadian University Dubai established a new campus at City Walk in the middle of downtown Dubai. By the establishment of the new campus, the CUD will offer high technology classrooms, an incubator lab, and innovative subject labs, with a primary focus on entrepreneurship, research, and a non-conventional approach to teaching and learning.

City Walk is an open, design-inspired neighborhood in the heart of Dubai with hundreds of restaurants and entertainment options alongside Downtown skyscrapers. It is a perfectly suitable location, open wild community including interesting architecture makes it the best place for students to learn, innovate, and explore.

The new campus will be including (a wide range of laboratories, research facilities, media studios, high-tech classrooms, a multipurpose theatre, gymnasium, dedicated student center, and dining and entertainment options on and around the campus. Students will benefit from flexible and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

With the new Music and Dramatic Arts Department that will be launched in 2022, it will give the students more opportunity to improve their musical and dramatical skills among students who have a passion for visual and performing arts, Canadian University Dubai is ready to take on those passions among the students by improving students' talents when it comes to singing acting presenting poems and anything related to visual and performing arts.
